and running for 15 min and fan comes on three times makes me wonder
about coolant hose, impeller shaft.
the fan would cool off the the temp transducer on radiator and then
switch off.
Check your two temp senders and wires. the one on the radiator and
the head by the spark plug.

When I warmed the bike up and it died, I took plug out to test it and
no spark. Will spark when cooled down in about half hour but with
kinda weak spark (mostly sparks few times then quit). So I checked
most of the electrical with meter to compare with the big book. Most
of them checked out within spec in the book, but the coil is the only
one that didnt check out. Looks like I'll have to get a new coil.
thanks,
Kenneth

I had the same trouble recently, only it was because I changed the water
pump seal without changing the oil seal at the same time.
You might have to do the deed over again. I hoped the oil leak would fix itself,
but it never did.
