Looks like a mini metal milk crate. I like the idea of something boxy on the back, but if you bolt it down you limit what you can easily strap onto the rack/seat. I don't see my 30lb bags of dog food fitting in there, but to each his own (that's why we ride mo'cycles). If you take a look around at racks on other bikes, you'll see that the KLR unit is pretty darn spacious one for a stocker. Hey Now, I had an old folding milk crate which I made into a carrier rack for the KLR. --- 1/4" drive torque wrench (inch pounds) and socket will work on the cam cap bolts. It's small enough to fit even within the KLR's tight confines. In fact, if you really are going to use only the tools that you carry, quarter inch drive stuff has definite advantages, and quarter inch is fine for most fasteners on the KLR. I use that plus motion pro wrench/tire spoon combos for my axle nuts. Plenty light kit.
