tire choice advice for 80/20 riding

Post by tucsonfiremedic » Mon Feb 13, 2006 9:23 pm

Looking at the D606 and or the Kenda 270. Talking rear tire only at this point. Keeping the stocker up front for a few more miles. Got a screw in the rear that went through the sidewall... Thanks Rick

Rick I put the D606 on both front and back this fall, they work great. Just remember they are not the 80/20 street tire you had before. They do have limits on the road and can vibrate at speed. Rod

I love my 606s! http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/zrod73026/detail?.dir=42b1&.dnm=abc7re2. jpg&.src=ph I also enjoyed the 858 Cheng Shins, a fabulous tire for street and dirt. Way more quiet than the 606, with tapered knobs for loosin mud and swallowin the rocks and firewood. http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/zrod73026/detail?.dir=f710&.dnm=f35e.jpg &.src=ph Course for 80/20, you may want to limit yourself to the stock tires. For 80 street /20 dirt I woudllook at the Avon Gripster. Unless your 20 is hardcore. I woudl rather take it easy on a full on dirt tire while riding street than be stuck in the woods while running a street tire.
