It's a marketing thing ~ didn't H come out with reverse first, now

Ron, Your on the right track. Wasn't that many years ago MCN was pumping out all sorts of data on this stuff. Most every scientific test has soon that anything that keep the rider with the back turns out to be the greatest hazard. The only thing that has shown promise is the idea of making an air bag the rider can wear. Several companies are working on ideas. One has actually brought a product out, only problem is the only reviews I've read leave you feeling its not quite there, yet. In following the stories, they know the end result will do the job, the hard part is getting the automotive technology into a wearable package that reliable triggers for the dynamics of a motorcycle accident. A Goldwing is just a 2 wheeled convertible without doors. Might as well put a seat belt and airbag in it.

klr military large fuel tanks

There are models with and without molded-in vent holes, and each of those models comes with a filler hole threaded for either military self-venting caps or civilian screw-on gas caps (like most MXers). Dual Star only sells the version with the military cap (IIRC). IMS only sells the version with the civilian cap. (In fact, they won't even admit that there is a version that uses a military cap.) Both places only seem to sell what's coming off the line today. I got to wait an extra month because they were switch over to the "new style" (molded in vents), and were out of the color I wanted (natural). Oh, and we're not making the color you want any more. I guess it's a good thing I called them to find out where my tank was! (This was IMS, BTW. I hear they're making naturals again. Oh, well.) : I am : interested in the KLR military tank in black. I had one on order : with Dual Star for 3 months, only to be told today that they are not : stocking the tank, as there is a problem with the petcock/tank : assembly??? The only problem on mine was that the hole as supplied was WAY too small to fit the petcock tubes through. It was more of a "okay, this is where you should drill the petcock hole" guide rather than a "install the petcock here" kind of deal. I hogged it out with a drill and then finished it up with a file. I wonder if that's the problem they're talking about... I can see how it'd be easy for an end user to make a hole that would leak. It's also pretty easy to make one that doesn't. : 5) I would prefer a tank with molded vents, presumably this will : improve cooling. However, does this weaken the tank? No... it makes it a little stiffer. At least, that's what they told me.-- Cloyce A13 in Austin
