buzzing klr headlight

Post by Bryan » Thu Aug 25, 2005 8:13 pm

My headlight is making buzzing vibration sound at higher revs. What do I need to tighten up to fix this, do I need to remove the fairing? I checked all the bolts I could get to with the fairing on and they were tight. Thanks, Bryan Dolan KLR 650 A19 Houston, TX

Yes. It's the center bracket on the bottom of the head light. Just remove the broken half and forget about it. Dan

Bryan Had the same noise when I first bought a KLR. Fixed mine by taking off the fairing and tightening the screws that hold the headlight bulb in place. Put a little blue Loctite on them before tightening and your buzzing should go away. Doug in NC ---------- At 01:14 AM 8/26/2005, you wrote:

partial inner fender removal!!!!!

Post by laguyyy310 » Sat Aug 27, 2005 4:02 am

I recently discovered a semi-legal way to remove the inner fender!!! With a dremel moto tool cutting disc, I reached underneath and cut a crescent shape between the liscence light and the brake light. I allowed the brake light and remaining inner fender intact and well hidden. The wires were taped off and will later be removed to the liscence light. I relocated the plate directly beneath the tail light on the rear outer fender. With only 2 holes it stays in place and lit enough by the tail light. I have since been pulled over twice by cal. highway patrol ...just to check my bike out!!! I even bent the plate horizontal which lights it great but makes it illegible to passing motorists and chp. This has been a great thing since my mods make me the fastest enduro in los angeles traffic and malibu trails!!! Let me know youre questions, thoughts, among inner fender removal and misc. mods!
