using footpeg to mount bike?

Post by John S Harper » Thu Aug 04, 2005 8:30 am

Think about it, there is a difference. I haven't tried the mysterious right side mount but I can see what he's saying. The right side foot peg is higher than the left when sitting on the sidestand. So the right side footpeg is higher relative to the seat. Relative to the ground. Picturing the bike leaning 45 degrees left if you're still not getting it. The difference in height probably would make it easier to mount from the right because you don't have to swing your leg as high. Of course not; you just have to force your left foot up and over from the right. WTF???? using footpeg to mount bike?

C'mon guys...everyone knows the proper way to mount a loaded KLR is to stand back a few feet from the left side of the bike, lift right leg to about 90 degrees, point it at the low part of the seat, and hop, hop, hop towards the bike until your right leg goes over the saddle and you can shimmy on over and sit on down. Counting on the kickstand to support you is fine on the street, but can get dicey on softer surfaces. And those right-side mounters must be from an antipodean universe. __Arden --- In DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com, "Jud Jones" wrote: > --- In DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com, "fasteddiecopeman" > wrote: > > > > > Why?
