With all the recent talk about the Harbor Freight tire changer, thought I'd let the group know they have the changer on sale for $39.99, but only at the store location. You can find your closest store at: http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/retail_stores.taf Jeff Layton KLR Wanna-be :-)

Couldn't live without one! I have the bubble balancer also. I just finished eight change and balances recently,(Zcar and SeaRay Trailer) and prolly only saved a few bucks, but least didn't have to leave the place to do it! Plus, those incompetent idjuts at the tire shops keep strippin my shtuff, Damit! Rod,,,,,pretty much doin it all myself, best I can

It's one of these: http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/Displayitem.taf?itemnumber=39741 But my question is: how well do they work on KLR wheels? Does it work better or about the same as this style: http://www.marcparnes.com/Kawasaki_Motorcycle_Wheel_Balancer.htm Jeff Layton

More importantly: Why? I balance my wheels on my KLR's own bearings while they are on their own axles (but with the speedo drive and brake removed on the front, and with the brake and chain removed on the back). This is accurate enough to get within 1/8 oz, which is far more accurate than is needed for a KLR. Why do I need extra equipment to balance my wheels? -E

The below is a response I sent direct to Mr. Quillan after he sent me am email about my "insulting" comment. It is not now nor was it my intent to debate my opinion on this forum, he brought it to the list. C'est le guerre Brad Centralia --- In DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com, scott quillen wrote:
