2200 mile loop

Post by john@simmons.net » Tue May 17, 2005 7:46 pm

Well, I'm impressed I just completed a 6 day 2200 mile loop through NC,TN, MS, FL, GA, SC. I've been riding the KLR since October 2004. This winter I decided to do the TN section of the TransamTrail and since I was going to be close to MS I was going to drop in on a couple of high school guys I haven't seen in 30 years. I stayed totally on secondary roads or less till I jumped on I-95 just North of Savannah GA in SC on my way back home about 180 miles of interstate. The bike performed perfectly the transam trail is pretty neat I would suggest you do it before this part of America is paved over like it is on the east coast where I'm at. I was able to locate one High School friend the other I found his dad but not him (long story). I carried camping gear but stayed in motels, in the little towns that have been bypassed by the big highways rooms are cheap. I'm looking forward to my next trip already.
