Start with the easy stuff: Drain the float bowl to be sure you are not dealing with condensation in the fuel, check the gap and condition of the plug (and cap and wire), and run a half can of Sea Foam through in the fuel to see if maybe the pilot jet is varnished up. Check for air leaks around the carb boot. You may need to clean the pilot jet manually. When were the valves last adjusted?
