oil change bubbles

Post by needleman_a » Sat Apr 09, 2005 1:31 am

So, I have a brand new A18 with 60km on the clock. Last night I did the first oil change it seemed to go smoothly. I started it up the next morning, let it run for a couple of minutes turned it off and let it sit for a minute and checked the oil level. I was surprised to see the oil was a opeche light yellow. On closer inspection It was full of thousands of little bubbles! I worked on cars and trucks for years but not many motorcycles and I have never seen oil do that. I let the bike sit for 10 min and the oil went back to normal. The oil is Kawasaki 10W- 40 brand aswell as the filter. Did I overfill? any Ideas? Am I an idiot? thanks, Ajn

Mine does it also when I change the oil and filter. (GTX 20-50) I think it's just the air in the filter getting mixed with the oil after a new one is installed. If you didn't put more than 2.5 or so in the case, with a new filter, you prolly didn't overfill I'm thinkin. Ain't no thang, Rod,,,,26,000 in two years

Good morning, I'm probably the last to know but Google Maps is offering satellite maps of the World, I guess. I can zero in on my neighborhood or the Rio Mulege in Baja. Maybe we can find Fred's new building in Moab. George, high above Escondido, CA
