nklr>>>> wd -- everything as chain lube????
A few more web sites to fuel the debate on the merits of
WD-Everything as a lubricant.

Wouldn't any synthetic spray lube, e.g., Synco Super Lube, be better
than WD-Everything?
Let's get it staaaaahted!, let's get it staaaaahted!..................

Lol, all these people who clean their chains. I haven't cleaned one for 20
years, I just top up the bottle every 1000 miles or so.

Better at what? Building up splooge in the front sprocket housing? Attracting sand in order to wear down your sprockets? Depends on what job you want your chain lube to accomplish! I spent about two hours cleaning off a chain, sprocket housing, and rear swing arm where the chain had been sprayed with Synco Super Lube multiple times while run in sandy conditions. Sandy splooge was everywhere, and it took multiple scrubbings with kerosene-soaked rags and a kerosene-soaked toothbrush to get it all off. Since I switched to using WD-40 I have had no such problems. Even when running the KLR in sandy conditions, I just spray the chain down well with WD-40 and the sand that doesn't wash off ends up getting flung off when I get back up to speed. Follow me on one ride, pretty much figure the small tube will be gone and any of that oil the oiler has been laying on the chain will have attracted more dirt/mud/dust/icky's than you care to see. Again if you ride pavement, sure use whatever floats your boat. Dooden A15 Green Ape> years, I just top up the bottle every 1000 miles or so. > http://www.scottoiler.com/

Mike, get a grip - we are taking links! You need to take some time off and
ride with us.
Ok, serious - we will be sat phoned! $1.80 a minute. We will also have my
5-band Cellular phone (AMP, TDMA (dual), GSM (dual). THE odd KEY in Baja is
AMP and TDMA coverage; when we are lucky to be in range of the limited cel
towers. Other than Satellite, we need a calling card - Doh - done. SO,
prepaid TELCEL calling card, prepaid Sim for the 5-band, and a CB to boot,
all in support of the primary com tool - The SAT phone.
SO, no excuses -
We meet in Calexico on the 17th of March - all tire changes, sprocket
changes, maintanence issues AND BORDER DOCUMENT ISSUES are handled.
Morning of the 18th, we eat well, and head SOUTH w/o anyone not having there
shi# together!
The ride is pro-active -

Mike,
Good work, that's probably how I would do it, too. Eric sent me both
harness's with my explorer, what a guy.
Don't know about March yet, as right now I'm swamped. I'll keep watching,
and stay in touch.
