Hello all
I've just bought a 2003 KLR and have a question about the water
temp warning light. The light comes on along side the neutral light
when the bike is put into neutral but goes out again as soon as a
gear is selected. It happens when the engine is running.
I've been told this is a "check" light and it's meant to do this ,
but i'm not convinced. Any help greatly appreciated.
Thanks DEEDOO.
oh, this isn't good, now *balancer chain*
water temp warning light
Last time I checked the light next to the nuetral
light was the turn siganl light, and next to that is
the bright light indicator. If the light nest to the
neutral light is on, I suggest turning and not
worrying about engine temp, just watch the guage for
that....

All reassurance that this is normal is welcome. I've never had an over-limit temperature situation but when I do I hope the light goes on. water temp warning light
Matteeanne .. we obviously have different clocks and warning lights.
My bike doesn't have a gauge and the light i'm talking about IS the
water temp light.
Georgew_del .. i've now done a couple of tests to find out if this
is normal , and i've found that the warning light is working as it
should. If the light comes on when your riding there is a problem.
If you are sitting in traffic in neutral and the bike overheats ,
the warning light gets brighter.
water temp warning light

Never did figure out why. I helped a number of listers get chains from Canada as the lower price and the Canadian Peso running at about .60 cents U.S. meant they could be delivered state side for about $125 - 130 USD. Regretfully, things have changed. Kawi Canada now wants $ 197.17 CDN ( Somebody wised up??) and the loonie is running at about .81 cents U.S. Still about $20.00 cheaper than the Ron Ayers price but nowhere near the bargain it used to be.
