Hi All Due to an unfortunate "getoff" in Cottonwood Canyon last week at Death Valley Daze, and the associated broken wrist, I have now found myself in need of a car for the first time in 5 years. Yesterday, I acquired a 95 Jeep 4.0L Wrangler with 88k miles. It seems to be in really good shape and it will be my main transportation until the doctor lets me back on my A17. Now that I have this Jeep, I am looking for a motorcyle trailer that I could use to take my Barbie bike out to some OHV parks where I can practice my dirt skills so I won't fall off so much any more. I came across this trailer... http://www.motorcycleinnovations.com/index.html They are asking $1200 for the single bike version. Anybody have experience with this product? Any other trailer recommendations? I am trying to avoid having a trailer sitting outside the house on a permanent basis. That's a lot of dough to spend on a little "trailer" like that. I understand your predicament, though, and don't know what else to suggest, except maybe for one of those Kendon trailers that stands on end. It's a lot more heavy duty than what you're thinking of buying. Note that those little wheels (8"?) are gonna have to spin really fast to do any kind of highways speeds. Keep those bearings serviced regularly. --John Kokola

Randy, I looked at that too before I had a pickup truck (Silverado). But for $1200 you can buy a beater Toyoter or Nissan kickup and skip the trailer gig altogether. I cam close to getting a little gizmo for lower speed local towing. http://members.aol.com/handeehitch/handeehitch.htm $50 and you just pull the front wheel and put the front axle through the little hitch thing and away you go. Looks interesting! Buy one and tell us how well it works on KLRs ... Sorry about your wrist, hope you're right handed. In an effort to show my solidarity, I went out last night in the rain and tossed the Orange poser bike down after playing Ricky-racer. The double yellow lines were slicker than snot and after swapping ends about 4-5 times -down I went. The Tourmaster protected the torso but I did get an excellent razzberry on the left cheek. Notched the handlebar gaurds a tad but otherwise the bike was unscathed. And I'm unsubbing later tonight to show solidarity w/ CA Stu. the site listed maximum 7500 RPM, so the max speed should be (2pi(r)" / revolution) (in/rev) * 7500 (rev/minute) * 1/12 ft/in * 1/5280 mile/ft * 60 minute/hour =14.204 PI R miles/hour ~=44.62 R miles/hour so assuming 8" wheels theoretical maximum speed of ~178 miles per hour. of course, you're probaly correct that the bearings need regular service to maintain their 7500 rpm max speed. (don't view this as argument, view it as informative... or just an excuse to indulge my perverse enjoyment of unit cancellation. (...probably mostly the latter) erik
