Definately keep the group posted, sitting here in Fayetteville with a 03. Currently debating whether to sell it, if anyone in the area is interested, drop me a note. J. --- In DSN_klr650@yahoogroups.com, "dirtrooster2003" wrote:

I'm in Eden, about an hour N of Ashboro on the VA line. I changed my doohickey last winter, but I've got a flywheel puller bolt, wrench, and even a spare set of gaskets I could bring. Keep us posted. Jim Hubbard

Kenn, If you have the tools what are the parts needed for the full doohickey replacement. I noticed Arrowhead has the whole kit including tools. John A18 Fayetteville NC

John Several kits are for sale. Jim has offered to bring the puller, I don't have that tool but used an impact wrench, both work. The kit will include the balancer and a new spring. You will need a gasket too. Cleaning off the old gasket is the most time consuming part of the process. Order this early...it took me weeks to get it. Of course the dealer is now out of business now, wonder why. Kenn

Hey, guys, though you may want to support your local dealer, for super fast service, call Fred. If Fred has the gaskets, from experience, he will have them in your paws faster than you could imagine. This guy's the Icon of customer service. VR Tom K.

"asheboro nc doohickey party" was digest number 5810

Actually, the reason I have a spare gasket set is that I didn't use it when I replaced my doohickey. Things will probably come apart with the gaskets reasonably intact if you're careful. Just wipe the surfaces clean, apply a very thin layer of RTV, and bolt 'em back together. No leaks here. Check out my pics at http://www.xlproject.com/doohicky.htm. Jim Hubbard
