Having changed to a KLX needle (and liking it) I now want to go one
size up on the jet.
What is the stock jet size?

The stock MAIN jet is a Keihin 148. Why do you want to change it? MrMoose A8 (Barbie and Ken special)> > Having changed to a KLX needle (and liking it) I now want to go one > size up on the jet. > > What is the stock jet size? > > Eduardo > A14

Yeah, I had mine set with the clip on the second slot from the top and the stock jet (148) and it was too rich. Much better on the very top slot. Little stumble off-idle -probably need to go to 3 turns on the pilot jet screw. Just need to find my Jake's carb tool. If only I had an air/fuel meter to be sure what the micture actaually was. I've a 42 pilot, 148 main, with 3 turns out on the Pilot-Jet-Screw, the
airbox open on top, K&N filter, stock muffler. Most of my riding is at
highway speeds, but I teach with it, and the low speed drivability is great.
Don't tune for power with the KLR, tune for drivability.

Well, the KLX needle made the power delivery seem more 'linear' to the twist of the throttle. Now, I am looking at having the KLR run a touch richer to run cooler. If more power (0.073HP or so)is a byproduct great! but that is not my goal. So do you think I should go up a jet size? raise the needle? collective wisedom is allways welcome. The air box is stock as is the TWEETER. Eduardo.> > size up on the jet. > > > > What is the stock jet size? > > > > Eduardo > > A14 > > The stock MAIN jet is a Keihin 148. Your right. There a very few US participants and no Kawasaki of any
kind (except for the Suzuki offroad equivalent developed by KHI-
Suzuki).
