Is there any to search all the messages to the beginning with one search? I have to search one group of messages at a time, there must be a better way. Thanks, Scott

Scott - No, unfortunately there is no way around it. I've started archiving the list using my own email reader (gmail) so that I can search more easily. At the rate I am going, I should be able to archive about 16 years worth of DSN_KLR650 goodness. Maybe someone has archives of the weekly journal version (or whatever it's called). I asked before, but no one responded... Dirk

If you use Windoze there is a shareware program called pgoffline It costs $19.95 from http://www.personalgroupware.com It is a yahoo offline message reader, it stores internally as an Access database. We have already uploaded early messages 1 - 100,000. These can be downloaded and inserted into your database. I will do the next 25,000 when we reach message 125000 so not far to go. A few of us have the full set of posts. 2000 = 17,407 2001 = 28,914 2002 = 26,507 2003 = 25,784 2004 = 23,061 (so far) My set is mostly pulled from the web site, but then it is kept fresh via the mailed out list option. The main difference with the mailed out ones is that they don't have the post number in the header. I would be willing to let a few folk pull my copy with special arrangement. I am on a dsl line so am not willing to just hang it out there for everybody to bleed my line dry. I'm making some of Doug's archives available on my web site. If the load ends up being too great, I'll take them down and instead provide links to people who email me. Until then: http://tinyurl.com/5zf3h right click on the file names to save them (at least in windows). cheers Dirk A18

Thanks for the help. I am having difficuilties though. The file extension is gz for the archives made available by Dirk. Should the pg program be able to open these?? What will? 2nd, the pg shareware downloads sections included archived files of our group that can be directly downloaded from the pg site!! I downloaded one but still could not use the "import" feature of the shareware to bring in the .mdb files . Firstly, the gz extension is for gzip, this is a Unix standard and used on Linux & Mac operating systems. On windoze Winzip should deal with them ok, else see www.gzip.org. With PGOffline the unregistered version certainly imported OK when I did it. You need to set up you group to start with, did you read through the getting started guide? http://www.personalgroupware.com/info.htm When your PGoffline is set up for the DSN_klr650 group you can then import the archived file.
