oil mixed gasoline

Post by kps1982 » Mon Nov 08, 2004 9:51 am

OK, here is a good one. I have a bunch of boat gas mixed 50 to 1 that I need to get rid of. It is starting to turn cool here in Va Beach, Va, and I don't want the gas sitting in my boat all winter Normally I would put it into my mower and burn it that way, but I think I am done mowing for the year. How about the KLR? (I will be riding it a lot this winter) Are there any items that would be adversely effected by burning a bit of oil in the gas? My mower has a Kawasaki engine on it and it loves mixed gas. I just don't know what to do with this gasoline. It is hard to get rid of 18 gallons of gas if you just don't want it anymore. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

i went riding 4 a weekend over the summer and when i was loading up i grabbed the wrong gas can. i ran a tankfull of mixed gas through my klr and had no ill effects at all. it actually made things smell good, it was Blendzall racing castor 2 stroke oil mixed with gas that i used. ofcourse since then i have clearly marked all the cans in the shop. scott

Robt. Thanks for the info. I do not need to clean my system of these viruses since my Norton Antivirus caught them. Pete Chester

If they are infected there's a good chance they don't know it. It was a hassle to purge my system of this virus but it was much better than rebuilding my system. Check out the links below for info on this virus and how to get rid of it.
