"A few square miles" would require an accident with a car fueled by a suitcase nuke. The size of tanks fitted to individual vehicles, if ruptured, would result in a fire of a similar magnitude to a full tank of gasoline. And hydrogen rises as it is released, prevent a clinging, liquid ground fire. Other technologies are a sintered metal matrix, that releases hydrogen not much faster then the engine could burn it anyway. You could split the tank in half, and still have what amounts to an engine fire. This would be cool since you could fill the entire frame with the material, and have a "frame tank" in addition to the fuel tank. Devon
