Hang in here, there will be someone nearby! I'm too far away, Oklahoma, and always ridin, not dependable and pretty lazy. There's always somethin goin on in Julian. Eagle Mike is nearby and a bunch of very respected KLR Gurus. Don't forget Fred out in Utah! Whenever in doubt, ask Devon! Stu will give you some honest shit too! These guys won't let ya down. Most ain't hard to look at either! Well, except,,,,,,,,,,never mind! HHHHAAAAAAAAARRR!!!!!! Just stay in touch with this group and some of the other KLR groups. You won't run short of enthusiastic KLR Guys and Girls to help steer ya straight and make ya an expert of this versatile scooter! I rode the Kiamichi Mountains recently with the moderator of the Texas Dual Sport group and was very impressed with how a little girl could handle the Mighty KLR! Cheers, Rod........Don't forget to study the FAQs. --- In DSN_klr650@yahoogroups.com, "Giorgio Trucco" wrote:

Giorgio It'll be in Julian, on the 13th. Watch the list here for details. If you scroll back a couple of pages of messages you can get more info. We gather about 8 a.m., let bikes cool whilst doing donuts, pastries, coffee. MarkB from Glendale, and Eric from Az (YES!), and others will be camping near Julian. We'll have tools there, and some parts. Fred at www.arrowheadmotorsports.com is always good for KLR parts. All the best, Mike Eagle Mfg & Eng since 1990

I got my front UFO low-fender and the 16T sprocket from Fred. I'll get more stuff slowly. One final question... you guys mean Julian, near Temecula, CA, right? Just so you and the other listers know, coasting the KLR downhill in neutral without the engine running is not recommended.. Sometimes people want to do it to conserve gas, of to see how far they can coast, etc. The reason it's not recommended to coast the KLR without the engine running is that there is no oil circulating around the drive shaft/ output shaft and you can fry the bearings , etc, in the final drive and countershaft. Or something like that. The KLR uses a wet sump oil delivery system that requires the engine to be running for the drive shaft to be lubed. If you absolutely have to be towed or coasted for any length of time, removing the final drive chain will prevent the countershaft sprocket/ drive shaft from turning. Conall

Hi Mark Arthur Yeh and I are thinking about taking Friday Nov 12 off and heading out to Tamarisk, subject to the resolution of the starting problem I am having with my A17. Haven't been camping since SongDog. Not sure how much dirt riding I want to do until I get my new tires and radiator guards. TTFN Randy --- dumbazz_650 wrote:
