waterproof dual sport boots?
If you don't care that the boots are wet and just want dry feet, try a
pair of the Sealskinz socks, Cabelas sells them among other places.
They aren't cheap for socks, but they will keep your feet dry.
waterproof dual sport boots?
Okay I've made some more progress on this boot search. I just
called the toll-free number for Oxtar and they were very helpful.
The guy I spoke to didn't rush me off the line and answered my
questions. He said the 'waterproof leather' comment for their off-
road boots suggests that it's ok for the leather to get wet, etc.
Well I'd hope so, but apparently it does have some other processing
in it to make it more durable for wet/dry cycles? He stated that it
really isn't meant to keep the rider's feet dry and probably won't.
He did identify their Oxtar Infinity Gore-Tex boot as a waterproof
dual sport. It has a Gore-Tex liner and two buckles and velcro on
the upper with elastic around the edge. New Enough carries them for
$209 at

Here's the Oxtar web site:
http://www.oxtar-usa.com/products/infinity.htm
It looks like the best possibility that I've found so far, however
the tread pattern on the sole isn't very aggressive for mud, etc.
It looks more street-oriented than off-road.
The Oxtar rep stated they manufacture this same boot for BMW expect
for minor differences like having 'BMW' on the boot instead
of 'Oxtar.' BMW dealers sell them for $299 which is what Oxtar used
to sell the Infinity for. Well they wanted to differentiate the
Infinity so they lowered the retail price to $249. That's moving in
the right direction for me.
What do you guys think of this boot, esp. the tread of the sole.
Does anyone have experience with this boot?

tires and pannier q
Hi folks;
I'm driving from Canada down to the HU meeting in Creel, and I'm looking for
some advise. Is anyone running the Dunlop D607's? Dunlop says that tire is
75% street but they look more like 90% to me, which is alright given the
distance I have to drive, although I'm hoping to do as much dirt and gravel
as I can. The price seems reasonable....$285 CND.
I also have a Ventura bag on the bike and I'm thinking it would be smart to
try and put on a narrow deep pannier to help compensate for all that weight
above the seat. I think I've settled on the Nelson-Rigg SB-900. Does anyone
have any insights on this bag?
thanks
CJ
