crack in engine case

Post by Mike Torst » Sun Jul 25, 2004 2:13 pm

Just a thought about stopping the crack from lengthening. When I had a crack develop in a fender mount (not KLR) I drilled a tine hole at the very end of the crack to prevent it getting larger, then used JB-weld over the crack and surrounding metal. It may or may work for the engine case crack, but stopping the growth of the crack would be very important to me in this situation. Hey Dan, I think it would be worth your time to try JB Weld before you get into a major repair project. I got JB Weld at Wal-Mart, so I'd guess that it's available about anywhere. I think you'd be surprised at just how good that stuff is... Mark --------------------------------------- KLR650 Motorcycle Website: http://klr6500.tripod.com/
