klr for sale in delaware

Post by eblansfield » Sat Apr 03, 2004 3:28 pm

I am putting my 2002 KLR650 up for sale. I am going to change to a cruiser since all of my friends have cruisers. I added the following modifications: LR Progressive Fork Springs Dual-Star Steel braided front brake cable Moose/MSR Skid Plate Dual-Star shift Lever (not installed yet) Kawasaki Tail Bag Complete Doohickey Kit from Fred including tools (not installed yet). The bike has 3300 miles on with 99 percent of the miles being ridden on pavement. I am asking $4,000 for it. Anyone insterested, just give me a yell. Thanks Earl (A16)

Why don't you get some new friends instead? All the cruiser riders I see never look like they're having much fun. Maybe 30mi north in NJ, are hundreds of miles of amazing fire roads, jeep trails, etc. Devon

Don't sell! Like Devon said, South Jersey has some great riding. Everybody has a cruiser, be different! Karl A14

Thanks for the advice. I would love to keep it and just buy another bike for some different riding. But it all adds up to $$$$. I found a couple of other guys in Del that contacted me and we are going to ge together to do some riding so I am in no hurry to sell. But if I get the right price, I probably will. I wish I still live in Utah. I was stationed there for a while and of course, didn't have a bike then. Earl

OhMyGosh, Earl, dont sell, Danny had mentioned your name in in an e mail or two. I am in Milton on the weekends and would be happy to ride with you to the pine barrows of jersey or wherever. I had hoped to run into you since I unerstand you are in the Milford area and I am usually at the Milford Wally Mart at least once a weekend on the KLR. Drop me a line off list. I have the doohickey kit also and have not done it yet due to other pressing house repair issues and suchlike. I have the little one car garage near set up for bike work, Car can stay the hell outside. Butch A 16

Your friends don't want you to have KLR. You will show them up on every twisty road, in any bad weather, on any less than perfect road. The KLR is not perfect, but it's an extremely capable bike, carving the canyons, blasting down fire roads, and even some technical single-track. If you can throttle back to 60, it will deliver 55mpg. If will haul camping shtuff for a week. And you don't lose sleep about dropping the beast. It aint no showpiece, it's a rider bike.
