Hi guys, looking for a more comfy seat before my trip in July. Anybody out there with a Corbin that would like to sell? I've also looked into a Gell seat kit being sold by Dual-Star.Does anybody out there know anything about them? Cheers, George

one thing that helps to make your ass and 'nads more comfortable is to wear "real" bicycle shorts with the polypro "pad" in the crotch WITHOUT any cotton undies under them. cotton holds persperation against your skin, which can lead to chafing and rashes, the lycra and polypro will wick it away and don't have any seams in sensitive areas that are being sat on. if you don't like the feel of the pad, at least try some bike-style shorts that are made of a wicking material, from Under Armor or another brand. they won't have the pad, but they will probably be cheaper and keep you almost as dry. this won't solve the problem with the factory seat being too soft, but i will make you more comfortable on whatever seat you are riding on. fixer A1 Lost Wages, NV --- In DSN_klr650@yahoogroups.com, "george roubicek" wrote:

George, I have both of these seats. The DualStar Gel is a definate improvement over stock, much more firm, but the neoprene material keeps my butt too hot(black w/yellow looks great). Now the Corbin is hard and flat, feels great. The only issue is when I put on my Joe Rocket pants, I slide around a bit. You'll hear some pretty nasty opinions about Cobra pipes (which they've discontinued due to too many warranty claims I heard). Based on what I've seen of Cobra pipes on KLRs, sell the Cobra on Ebay immediately, and use the money for something useful, like Progressive fork springs, a different spring for the shock, or improving the brakes. wcf1250@... wrote:

Do you mean the idler shaft lever, AKA doohickey? The 88's had a different design, one that was apparently less prone to outright failure and more likely to just have the chain run a bit loose.

Three hp maybe. You'll get a noticeable improvement in throttle response when you drill out the slide and fit the different needle. This is 95% of the improvement right there without chainging the air filter or the exhaust pipe. As for the pipe, don't we all have enough trouble with riding areas being shut down? I just put the stock pipe back on my '01, and had one of the best offroad riding days in a long time. The stock pipe gives the most controllable, smooth, driveable power. Which is what you need for trail riding, or flattracking turns in the city. You can open up the airbox a little bit, which seems to make some difference at small throttle openings. I was using an O2 meter, and when I drilled 4x 1" holes in the airbox it made a LARGE change in the mixture around 1/4 throttle. No change on top though.
