progressive suspension 420 rear shock

Anyone have an idea as to which seat is wider, a Corbin KLR650 or a Corbin DR650? In order to do any extended riding, I've learned I need a wider rather than narrower seat. Same question as to the stock KLR 650 vs. DR 650, which is wider? Thanks. Keith Bellingham, WA

Having suffered through two four-hour stretches on the DR 650 seat, it felt like sitting on a freakin' knife blade. My stock KLR 650 seat feels like a plush sofa chair by comparison. I'm probably getting the "flat" Corbin seat for my KLR shortly, when my income tax refund check makes it into my bank account (sigh!), my stock seat is getting a bit battered (has a couple of holes in the vinyl that ain't getting smaller, I could patch them I suppose but this is an excuse to get a better seat . -E

The DR650 Corbin is 12" at the widest, tapering down to 8" just before the upturn at the tank.

Consider you got off cheap. I put a 'just as good as a GM crate' 350 in my auld pick-em-up truck. Two years and three warranty replacements later I put a real GM crate in her and it even wound up costing about $800 less than the just as good as POS Napa rebuilds. I might of got the KLR shock replacement right on the first try but I sure messed up on my truck engine, but I've discovered a Summit Racing outlet up on Sparks and my truck is feeling much better even if my wallet is much lighter.
