noab prep
Making some final preparations for thrashing the hell out of the KLR at
NOAB. After having bent the brake lever in the last drop, it's clear
that I definitely need some hand guards. I'm thinking Maier Woods Pro
Deluxe. Any thoughts pro or con? Also, who has a good price?
I'd also like to replace the grips since the ride out to NOAB will be
rather long. Suggestions for vibration-absorbing grips?
As far as footpegs, I'm guessing IMS pro series. (Should I change these
at NOAB and use the stock pegs for the highway? Or is the vibration
about the same with either?)
Also, while inspecting the bike after the last drop, it appears that
the rear break pedal is vulnerable. Anything that can/should be done
about that (other than not dropping the pig on its right side)?
Finally, it seems inevitable that the mirrors are going to snap
something important off the handlebars. I'll take the mirrors off once
at NOAB, but is there a better, permanent solution to the mirror
problem?
TIA

Whichever ones come with return springs.> >As far as footpegs, I'm guessing IMS pro series. >
No, put the IMS pegs on and leave them. Safer in the rain.>(Should I change these >at NOAB and use the stock pegs for the highway? >

All the other mirrors I've seen were both annoying off road and not as good as stock on road. I just use stock, or stock-size mirrors and throw them in my backpack when I go trail riding. In prep for NOAB and the much fabled tales of crunched cases, I decided to
get my skid pan beefed up by one of our company's sheetmetal vendors. Got
it back this a.m., and installed this evening.
Tough!!

selling my klr 650
Fokls,
I have decided to sell my KLR. I just do not use it enough. It is a 1999 KLR 650 with 13,800 miles. The bike is in great shape. It has the following options:
Headlight/ Tailight modulator
Headlight Guard
after market steel/plastic hand guards (forgot the brand name)
radiator guard/ highway pegs
bash/brush plate plate
center stand
happy trails pannier rack (givi bags not included)
rotor guard
taller windscreen
extra front sprocket for decreased RPMs
extra tires
Asking $2600.00
Thanks
