Hey Guys, I will do my plastics and tank in black line x and I was thinking about doing the frame in a grey linex..... What do you guys think? Any reason why i shouldn't do it? Thanks! Adam

Truck bed lining, spray in stuff. Like Rhino, and Durabak. Linex is preferred by some, Rhino by others. I prefer Durabak as I could do it myself without the $300+ cost involved. http://home.earthlink.net/~millerized/KLR.htm You can use the cheapie stuff you'd buy at Wally World or one of the auto parts stores, but I haven't heard of anyone doing it. Once you start, you're stuck with this stuff. The Walmart stuff (Duplicolor and Plasti-Coat, same company) sucks. They're both made of a solubilized vinyl compound, which easily gets scratched. Herculiner is good stuff and is available in 1 qt cans for $28.00 at auto parts stores, but only comes in black. The Line-X in my truck bed is pretty rough, so you might think twice about doing the tank unless you wear some heavy pants while riding. Also, it's kinda nice when your knees slide over the tank instead of sticking to it. On the other hand, a tank bag won't slide around much! Not sure why you'd want to add that much weight to your bike or go to the expense. A black Line-X bike is going to be invisible at night. Also, prepare for it to fade some. Line-X looks great when it's new, but it does age. Unless you scrape the Line-X off the mating surfaces of the frame you might find that bolts don't get as tight as you'd like. __Arden

Know the feeling, im in the U.P., was a real eye opener yesterday morning on the ride in think somebody said it was 14 F all I could do was say I believe it.. felt like I lost a slap fight with my open face helmet on. Roy, I ride a KLR and live in Miami. Let me know if/when you want to ride. I usually head north toward Lake Okechobee and the surrounding area.
