Any big guys out there install a 420 shock? If so how was
the "ballpark" preload setting on the shock as it came from
Progressive. I'm about 250lbs. I would rather dial in the additional
preload before I install the shock than fight with the little
adjusting tool after.

No, no automatic off switch. It'll run until you waterlog it, runs
out of gas, it seizes from lack of oil or you shut it off. Just one
of the marvelous safety features to prevent Kawasaki mechanics from
taking it for rides. Did his feet manage to get caught in the chain
too?!!?
