I have decided that rather than disabling the switches, I would prefer to provide an alternate source via a switch. I have completed this on the clutch and will post pictures soon. It appears that Kaw is a fan of breaking ground and that is what they have done on the clutch and sidestand. I would like to jump the two wires G/W and Brown down at the side stand by running them through a switch. I am assuming that these wires eventually make there way up to one of the four connectors on the front of the bike. Anybody got an idea about how to identify these wires at the triple tree level? Adding another switch ? Can we also call this another "fail point" ? Adding a jumping on the sidestand is pretty easy, or just scotchlock the wires together. ( check first, not sure on the sidestand) As for the Clutch bypass I made small jump wire fitted with the mini spade connectors and pushed the wires out of the block and jumped them together and put the block back together. Alan, they do not go to any of the connectors up front (I don't think - I don't think there are any two wire connectors there. They run to a two wire connector (I don't know where, I haven't traced it). The two wires (brown & green/white) go to the connector, the brown then goes directly to ground from the connector as a black/yellow wire. The green/white continues through the connector and connects to the diode unit which is on the right side of the steering head above the CDI unit. You need a Clymer which has got a great color wiring diagram. If you want it, I'll scan it and send it to you.
