Wait just a freakin' second. I doubt any engineer designed that car; designers and marketing research did. I don't know what all you truck and SUV driving suburbanites are bitching about. Regardless of how ugly you may think it, you'll still be able to crush one these in your dually crew cab commuter pickup when you're drinking your Starbuxs grande extra-hot triple mocha latte, putting on your makeup, and talking on your cell phone while driving the brats to soccer practice. I, quite frankly, am happy to see the blossoming of the small car segment here in the states. Heaven knows we could use more choices when we want a car that gets more than 30 mpg, can fit in a standard parking spot, and doesn't require I sell my left kidney on the black market to afford it. I'd own a Smart if I could. Z

In a slightly less confrontational vein... the design of the xB doesn't do much for me, but if I were in the market for a cheap, reliable, and very practical new car (which is likely the kind of car I'd want if I wanted a new car) I'd be hard pressed not to put the xA at the top of my list. For $12965, it seems like an incredible deal. -Lujo

I'M totally with Zach on this one. And smaller cars are easier to see over in traffic . And let's face it, if you get creamed by a semi it won't make a difference what you are driving. You guys are way off base. Marketers designed the Scion. Toyota is worried that they are not attracting the 20's something so they had their marketing group come up with the Scion as a way to get younger buyers into a Toyota in hopes they will replace it with a real Toyota.
