1990 650 tengai

Post by bigxxjc » Mon Feb 02, 2004 7:41 pm

I am the new owner of 650 tengai. Inerested in advise and info on parts. First thing I'm looking for is a new or used metal skid plate or where I might find one. I am very concern about all the info on problems with balancer chain. Sounds like it could be serious. Any advise. I also need to replace my front boot covers for the front shocks. Would they be the same size as the KLR? Is there an easy way to do this? Has any one that any problems with sub frame? I am big would it be a good idea to upgrade. I will appreciate any responses and thank-you taking the time to read this message. Just Cause

Jud, Was thinking that was the non-Mil version, perhaps thats were the color thoughts came from. Nonobtrusive would be a good description then, cause the semi-clear to me look kinda cheap looking, yours just looked solid when looking at it. I am fine with the OEM tank for now, only a few scratches, and no rust yet, now if it get dents I can deal with that too, but rust will give me reason to look at the IMS units down the road. I had a KZ-400 years back that had a heck of a dent on the right side towards the top, when the faded out color was too much for me I sanded it down dent and all, primed it and hung it from a bungie cord on a tree branch and painted it a deep maroon using automotive spray/touch-up paint and it held on fine till I sold it a couple years later after moving and having to ride 15 miles of highway to work, the KZ-400 just did'nt have enough juice at 55 Mph to get away from the cagers if needed, felt like a rolling speed bump. Did you get a email from Jay yet ? Enduraid is going to be closer for you this year: June 18-20, 2004 Chippewa National Forest in north-central Wisconsin - Specific location pending http://www.geocities.com/enduraidrally/ I have full intentions on attending again, that was a blast, wife now has a four wheeler so she wants to attend if possible also, just have to borrow a trailer to get both units there I suspose if that happens. Not that I need to drive 200 miles to a trail, but the group ride is a blast. Dooden A15 Green Ape --- In DSN_klr650@yahoogroups.com, "Judson D. Jones" wrote:
