Hi, saw your post on DSNklr650 group..So I was wondering what success you have with changing the stock shield. I am thinking for fall and winter a better, taller, windshield would be nice. Do you change again to stock for summer riding? or is there a +7 (or whatever) that works best year round? Best for winter?

Richard,
Try the +9" from Clearview. I've been running one on my A15 for the
past 2.5 years, and it's perfect for the commute. If I know I'll be
doing any trail/gravel riding, I switch back to the "stocker"...takes
about 5 minutes total.

I have read warnings about the taller replacement screens being too tall and thereby exerting too much pressure on the stock screen mounting at highway speed. Has anyone experimented with a bar-mounted after-market windshield? I would be most concerned about possibly restricting the turning range of the handlebars when making contact with the bar-mounted screen. Any wisdom to share? TIA! I have a plus 10" ceebaileys and love it. It was a little tough on the cowling plastic until I bought that little dash thingie which bolts in the dash (I can send link later) and replaced the bolts with big fender washers. I have 2K on it and its perfect. It has even helped a bit with high speed wobbles (you know 90 plus) $109 is a little pricey but it makes a 100 mile a day commute very tolerable in any weather --- On Tue 10/07, Joe < zooka@... > wrote:From: Joe [mailto: zooka@...]To: DSN_klr650@yahoogroups.comDate: Tue, 07 Oct 2003 19:42:07 -0000Subject: [DSN_klr650] Re: KLR windscreensRichard, Try the +9" from Clearview. Hans, I have the taller Kawasaki windscreen, given to me by someone who's now using a 21" Rifle windscreen. I would guess that KLR windscreens don't get much taller than that, and he's been using his in rain or shine for a year or more. Mark A day without sunshine is like, you know, night.
