proper cover fit

Post by south_fl_klr » Wed Jul 30, 2003 10:33 am

I unfortunately have to keep my KLR outside (apartment complex) and need to purchase a cover. Which size seems to work the best? Should I go with the cover that is fitted for Honda Goldwings, or would the Sport Bike size be ok? Blair Watkins A17 -- Instructor of Mathematics and Physics Coral Springs Christian Academy

This just in from "The Great White North", Didn't Sir Devon of Wal-Mart suggest a plastic "bed wetting" mattress cover sheet at one time. Queen size I believe...... Cheers, Dave Watkins 1998 KLR 650 " The Prodigal Son" Calgary, Alberta, Canada dave@... Voice: 1-403-701-5746 Fax: 1-403-266-0626

proper cover fit

I'd go for the bigger one if you are tarping and untarping often. I bought the sport bike cover (at Wal-Mart) because the dimensions seemed right but I forgot to account for the KLR mirrors which jut out a lot. The cover fits but only barely. A real pain to put on though it is nice and snug once it's there. I'd rather have a bigger cover even if it meant strapping it down on the really windy days. I'm 6'3" and 350 pounds just out of the shower. Works for me. I think it is a good first bike for one of our size. Alan Henderson A13 Iowa
