klr650 tires

Post by michaelesloan » Thu Jun 26, 2003 5:13 pm

I actually like the performance that I am getting from the stock Dunlop K750's that came on my 2002 KLR 650. Any opinions about Dunlop D604's and/or D606's? I ride about 60/40 paved road/off- road. My off-road riding is 95% National Forest Roads in the Southwest Virginia mountains. There are frequent creek crossings with a lot of grapefruit shaped and sized rocks in the creek bed. Many sections of the roads have imbedded protruding edged rocks. My street riding is 95% back roads under 50 MPH. Little or no travel in the rain. Any other tire recommendations for this type of use would be appreciated.

hyper-lights

I will attest to the intensity of them thar HyperLights..... Ole Eddie Munster has a 8-Light pack on each side of the rack and they are bright, the few times I let him get ahead < ;-) > of me during Enduraid they really helped me know about where the next corner was, cause when he braked in all that dust the HyperLights gave away his location like a radar had locked onto to jet. They really are amazing how much faster they are at full brightness before the OEM tail light has even begun to start getting brighter. I was just going to get a cheapy (hey I like Walmart) LED marker light and just mount it, but after seeing his lights on that rack, it has made me think about it some more. Well speakign of Wallyworld, suppose I could go see if my photos are back yet, and then pray that my scanner feels like playing tonight. Dooden A15 Green Ape

klr650 tires

Post by kcuf_oohay_666 » Thu Jun 26, 2003 9:20 pm

I've had the 604's and they are a good tire for the street. But I like the Metzler Tourance (sp?) better. Neither tire is great in the mud or loose stuff. except for the stream crossing the Metzlers sound like a good choice. For street/asphalt the metzlers are the best. --- In DSN_klr650@yahoogroups.com, "michaelesloan" wrote:
