klr 250 long term durability
Hi, will a klr250 last 30-40,000 miles? I plan on buying a new klr
250 or 650 and my primary concern (being that it would be my primary
vehicle) is it's durability. I plan on primarily highway use but
occasinal (sp?) trail use, which bike would you suggest? sorry if this
sounds disorganized
thanks in advance

Go with the extra cubes for highway use. Mister_T Melbourne Australia> I plan on buying a new klr > 250 or 650 and my primary concern (being that it would be my primary > vehicle) is it's durability. I beat one up for 13,000 hard miles.
it likes to rev.
two up at 60-65mph. 6 gears handy. 5th for the long haul up hill.
got many tickets. It also was a trusty steed and got me out of a few
tickets. hehehhe
Hey I was 19.
had that thing 8ft in the air. My girlfriend rode really well shotgun
and we rode that thing to EVERY mountain peak in el paso.
I rode that thing 2up every where off road in El Paso. hueco
tanks ,carslbad, everywhere.
ported, milled head etc.
30-40,000 miles. yes. with regular oil changes and maint.
regearing it would be good for backroads. not on the highways in big
cities. In town yes. trails yes.
much better than the klr650 off road.
I own a 650 and have been thinking of a 250 again.
it also makes a good submarine.
it is a bit underpowered compared to the 350dr.
klr650 is better on long hauls esp highway.
tell ya what. If you are planning on buying new. don't.
go get used both.or new both.
