So far it looks like my vote goes to Devon. That DRZ front end is no mere
bolt on. Now he just needs to drop an XT660 motor in there.

I hope I win something, for having the least modified KLR. 12,700 miles,
and the only thing added is a dualstar bash plate. Oh, and a new
doohickey.
I've spent more time on my back, than a $4 Bangkok hooker, from falling
of the beast, yet it still keeps going ..... Gotta love this bikes
durrabilty.

Thanks, but we'll see- Anyone with the early gearbox lower 1st gear gets extra points. I have a few more though. I put the stock carb back on, but I'm taking off the fairing and installing an Acerbis headlight next week. Whatever that counts for. I also got Tammy's fuse relocators, while I actually own the tools (and probably have the blade fuse holders around someplace too) to rig this on my own, I thought the whole kit setup and snap-in installation were worth the $$. Briefly, I had the fuel tap converted to manual switching. I had an IDS2 pipe for a while, went back to stock, then had the IDS2 "Frankenpipe" which was an external disc set mounted to the end of the IDS2 can instead of the turn-down tip. Not a whole lot quieter, but it looked pretty cool. Back to the stock pipe again. I had my headlights wired directly from the battery with 14ga wire and control relays, to power the 80/100 headlight. I'm ripping all that out since I went back to the stock headlamp. I figure a 15A blade fuse will be just fine, especially since I'll be able to change fuses without tools. Too much crap behind the fairing. I had a Scottoiler, which I loved (and I'd use again for street riding) but the end drip tube kept getting ripped out on brush, and anytime I had to roll the bike backwards. The rear sprocket had little wear after 13,500mi, and the chain had jingly rollers but no tight spots. But I ATE three countershaft sprockets in the same time, they would just hook like crazy. I've got 8,000mi on the second chain'n'sprocket set using nothing but WD40. They might make it to 12,000 mi, but the countershaft is now wearing evenly with the rear sprocket. Plus, the bike is seeing more dirt than last time. I moved the license plate to the outside of the rear fender under the brake light, and hacked off the inner fender and the side wings on the outer fender. Keeps the tailgaters away in bad weather (nice roost off the K760 on the highway). Devon A15> > So far it looks like my vote goes to Devon. That DRZ front end is no mere > bolt on. Not a lot of money? You must have about $2700 of mods there! It's all
worth it though, I know. I suggest you trash your front rotor and get
a MAP.

Well... it maybe that much but I never, ever, wanted to add it up, really appreciate it Conall! ;^) Great with the soft luggage and ancillary items not listed I have exceeded the price of a F650 PD. But one of the great things about this bike is that you make it exactly what you want it to be with all of the aftermarket support from some great vendors like Fred (please adopt me!), Jake, Tim B., Dr. Chris, Tammy (she is a charmer) and Dual Star. And I have made this bike exactly what I was looking for, comfortable, tough and unique. The last two things I have considered adding to the bike is an upgraded front brake and some aluminum panniers from Daerr, http://www.daerr.de/Artikel/MotoradBox.htm pricing looks good, quality looks nice and of course importing them from Germany adds mega posing points for those stops at Starbucks. Can't wait till they get the franchise rights to national parks and forests, I'll never leave the Gifford Pinchot. Reminds me have been considering a round the world tour with the traveling from Starbucks to Starbucks, if only I could find a sponsor, hmmm maybe Red Bull? btw - had a request for # of doohickey swap assists I've done, it's at 19 and still climbing, renumeration a total of $70 (gas money). Actually I should have said I have his right nut, and when I got it I
was still married so it was nice to have a least one not in a jar
that I could grease and twist it around a bit.
Yeah, Jake is a great guy!!!. In fact he even sourced some
replacement footpegs bolts so I wouldn't loose those damn e-clips on
the blackberry vines that we grow around here, it got to the point
where I carried 4 with me and I'd buy another 4 a month later, even
after siliconing the suckers on.

I'm not sure an F18 will hold that many people.
Last I heard, Brad was contemplating acceptance of an F18 Doohickey
rendevous.
