Got me a KAW tall windshield. KAW said it mounts with stock hardware.
Not likely.
The plastic nuts used with the stock shield don't work with the tall
windshield. To thick.
I used some rubber grommets split in half and mounted them under
washers, with bolt and nuts.
I do like the tall shield. Makes me feel like a cruise missile in
town.A bit of buffeting to the top of the
helmet. Better than full on to the chest or bottom half of helmet.
What have other listers used to mount thier tall KAW shield ?

mounting an ims tank
I just mounted an IMS plastic tank a few weeks ago. The one I got used the OEM radiator shrouds, and a scew in cap. It was available immediately, and the military model from Dual Star was at least a month wait on back order. The installation package did NOT include much for useful instructions.
I used the stock mounting points, EXCEPT,
at the bottom front of the tank, where the two shrouds have male fittings that push into the two rubber grommets on the stock tank, you get four screw holes at a right angle on the plastic tank.
I cut a couple of 1" X 1" aluminum angle mouldings each about 2" long and drilled holes in them to match up to the mounting points. Big holes for the original rubber grommets allowed the use of the stock shroud male fittings on the shrouds.

mounting kaw tall windshield
I used the stock hardware, just flipped the nuts over. Watch out when hill climbing with that tall shield, and you have to stand and lean forward - mine touched me on the neck, that was a bit of a surprise.
