Old! Tell me about it. I see that address every day and forgot where it was. Is there a way to remove the seals without compressed air? Thanks to all who responded. WVD --- "Mark St.Hilaire, Sr" wrote:

Yes, you need to disassemble them. You'll need to make a damper rod holding tool, this can done with a hacksaw, file, and $10 in materials from Home depot. I don't have the link for the tool handy. Zack? If you replace the schraeder valves on the forks after pouring out the oil, you could probably get the seals out with a bicycle pump. Devon "W.V. Doran" wrote:

I have a small 12 volt tire pump, would that work on the schraeder valves? --- Devon Jarvis wrote:

The link that Mark sent you shows you how to do just that. No special tools needed. Rex ( guy that wrote this up ) does tell you how to make a seal driver from PVC pipe but you can install them without that. Someone mentioned recently that you can use your old seals to evenly drive in the new ones. Be forewarned that sometimes you need a lot of PSI. One of my seals quite after 40 lbs. the other took 120 - a record around here. Bogdan

Depends on how much pressure you need. Probably it would work fine. Bogdan

Couldn't hurt to try. I would think it'll work, though slowly. Wrap a couple of rag around the seal so you don't get sprayed. Devon "W.V. Doran" wrote:

Disregard my post, sorry. I thought you said WITH compressed air. I shouldn't post at this time of day. Still the compressed air method is the easiest even though some think you don't clean out the old oil as effectively. Bogdan
