re tank bags

My dealer threw in a tank and tail bag. Has anyone using the Kaw tank bag had problems with mud/dirt getting under the bra and wearing the paint? Also it doesn't look like the stretch fabric will hold up for long. How long have you had yours? Daveel

From time to time when the bike gets real muddy or dusty, I remove the bag and wash it out. Fabric/seams etc. holding up perfectly so far. Steve A11

What?! You still have an unscratched KLR? You need to go outside and knock your KLR over into a mud puddle, then wipe it off with some 100grit sand paper ;) And yes, the stock tank bag, IMO, is POS. It's a nice tank bra and that's about it. The map pocket is useless and dangerous (try reading a map in it while doing 60+mph). Marsee and Wolfman make much nicer ones that aren't that much more expensive. Z DC

While riding my KLR through Dawson City, Yukon Territories 2 summers ago, I saw what was apparently legal use of ATV's in town (all dirt roads). I also saw a guy get pulled-over on his ATV. I don't know what he had done, but earlier I saw him tearing around and looking over his shoulder ;-) As far as ATV's being street-legal, are they very stable at high speeds on pavement? Maybe using some sort of ATV "Gripster?" I've only tried the 2-wheel drives in sand. Charles __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Mail Plus - Powerful. Affordable.
