masterlink clip, the nklr side

I have a friend that rides aboiut a 2000 F650.He absolutely loves his....but not as a true dual-sport.He has a 1999 KLR250 for that use.He rides his F650 on the street only.We have ridden our KLR250's places where that F650 would never had been able to make it safely.They would be okay for easy dirt roads or fire service roads,but not really a dual-sport machine in our opinion.As a street bike/camping bike/even a touring bike it is really good.But not for the rough stuff. that F650 would never had been able to make it safely. Sooo true. I rode my 86 klr250 in rocky desert mountains in El Paso and snow in colorado. Gone staight up mountains with 2 up on that 250. Haul two up the Transmountain pass in EL Paso at 65mph and a 100 down. Rode that thing from tx to ks. I MOST certainly could ride that 250 in places I WOULD NEVER ride my klr650. I wish there were klr400's.

Which careful and knowledgeable wrench is that? The one who stripped some threads in his ZR-7's engine block? Or is it the one who can't change oil without getting it all over himself and the garage floor? Just checking, RM

Question: Can the KLX400 18 inch rear wheel fit a 2002 KLR650? IT would yield a little more ground clearance and a slight gearing-up; also, the tire is more narrow, and might be better for street use. From the gravel roads of Nacogdoches County, Texas, timberrr59 I MOST certainly could ride that
