Maybe I'm wrong and someone correct me if I am but is the only reason this gal is asking for donations is to fund her own little pleasure cruise around the world? No real legit reason like cancer research, Alzheimer's research, or whatever. Dan

No correction required, you are pretty much on target. She is on a two year motorcycle vacation tour and is asking for donations to support it.

Well, I for one donated a small amount to Mariola. She's not asking for a ton of money, just whatever you feel like giving (if at all). The cool thing was, that for my donation, I got a nice photo CD of her Alaska trip mailed to me. Very cool photos I might add. I dont think that Mariola asking for donations is unusual. I've been to several other motorcycle travelers websites, and some of them also asked for donations. I find nothing wrong with it. If you dont want to donate, then...just dont donate. For me, her trip is somewhat inspirational, and I hope to eventually try something similar. So, it was worth it for me to "help her out", and who knows, someday she might return the favor. Finally, I dont think her husband/boyfriend is traveling with her, I just think he is there with her now on holiday. If I remember correctly, he was the one that emailed me about the CD, and I think he is also the one that mailed it to me...from Chicago.

Despite being too young to really remember that one, I second that post. Fan:

When I hooked up a fan bypass, I ran it through a submini relay that comes on with the ignition. That way, 1) I don't have to worry about forgetting to turn it off, and 2) if some wanker starts playing with the switches while the bike is parked, they won't kill my battery... Krokko -- Dr. J.
