Has anyone found a replacement for the OEM balancer chain? My
tensioner is out of adjustment and I need one for my KLR600-B2. $212
for OEM seems just a little hard to swallow.
Thanks for any input! Great Group!!!!
BTW, Thanks all for the help with my starting problems. The intake
valve clearence was -0.004". I don't see how it ran at all!

Where did you take that measurement? Or did you calculate it based on shim sizes before and after? Did I just answer my own question?> valve clearence was -0.004". I don't see how it ran at all! > Tim

If so, do you have any buddies in Canada? The reason I ask is that the OEM balancer chains for the KLR 650's are way cheaper in Canada than in the States. I have no idea why this is but it may be the case for the 600 series as well. I believe there are some retailers that sell replacement balancer chains for pretty close to the Canadian price but I don't recall who. Maybe.. Ron Ayers? If you don't have anyone in the Great White North to check this out and you'd like to follow up, drop me a line off list. I've helped 3 or 4 others listers get chains and I'd be happy to look into it for you if you're interested. Cheers, Steve A11 [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

compressed air fork seal fix
I tried the compressed air fork seal replacement job, and it worked like a charm. I thought I wrote a long posting on how I did, but I did not see it on the list. Maybe the Russians got it. If anyone wants the details just e-mail me. Dave
