Thanks to everyone whom responded to my request for pilot screw
adustment setting for Super Sherpa.
Here's the result:
I used a piece of small diameter rubber tubing to hold a flat screw
driver bit andturn the pilot jet screw. Didn't have to move the
carbruetor again for access.
Turned the pilot screw completely in to see how far open. (was open
about 2 turns after having previously opened it an additional 1/2
turn.)
Then, turned it out from closed three turns.
Started the cold engine (needed choke) and let it idle. Ran pretty
good. Decided to try and tweak the pilot screw out another 1/4 to
1/3 turn. Started to run rough on idle. Tweaked it back in and
finally ended at 3 turns open again as the best setting.
Bike has more power at lower RPM's and doesn't take nearly as long to
be rideable after starting cold.
Thanks again.

octoberfest, maggie valley nc
Am planning on attending the Octoberfest Dual Sport Ride in Maggie Valley NC
this year. Leave Fri (Oct 11th) and return Mon (Oct 14th).
I am either looking for someone else from the Central Florida area that is
planning to go and has room on there trailer for another bike (KLR-650).
Split gas and motel.
I am also thinking of riding up from Central Florida on the KLR and making
the trip up and back as part of the ride. Same deal meet a KLR rider or two
on the way up and split motel room.
People that know me know that I ride whenever possible and rarely trailer.
The biggest down side is that I would have my street oriented tires on the
bike instead of my second set of dirt tires.
