why such high tire pressure recommendations?

well, FWIW, here's my bs speculation: i've read that heat is one of the biggest factors increasing tire wear. and a lower pressure tire will generate more heat as it deforms from the round and unweighted to the flat road and weighted. when i first rode my klr it felt mushy in turns and seemed to have a high rolling resistance. i assumed the manual recommended pressures were for dirt/gravel (where you want the tire to deform a lot to wrap around whatever is there)and raised the pressures to closer to those of my sportbike. i think over-inflation on a car would be a bigger problem because you're going from a normally inflated flat section to a rounded section. sheldon ====================================================================================== NOTICE - This communication may contain confidential and privileged information that is for the sole use of the intended recipient.
