klr sighting at cuyamaca...

Post by ewb100 » Sat May 25, 2002 7:30 pm

Hey Gang: I saw a KLR (probably A12 or 13) riding up Hwy 79 near Cuyamaca Park today at about 1:00. They had a Givi or J.C. Whitney tailbox. Anyone from this group? Eric KLR650 A13 San Diego, CA

i met the guy who bought at the corner market and i cried all the way home (luckily it was dark). i loved that bike. while i was waiting for him to show up, i went through all the memories of the a) the ride to Moab 2 years ago for the rally (and the amazing ride down the creek with two HUGE rock walls close enough to touch on either side). b) the ride to lapaz, mexico and back last year (and helping pick stu's bike off the ground when he crashed while escorting me from his house to the border). the ridiculous goat track from mulege to san jose de comondu that i wouldn't consider taking my 4wd pickup on. c) actually learning to work on a motor vehicle. checking and adjusting valves, rejetting the carb, etc.... d) the way that bike never ever let me down in 25,000 miles of fun. i feel pretty empty inside. i hope that when i go moto-ing on my new ktm 300 exc it helps dull the pain a little. -mark 01 klx300 01 bandit 1200s 02 300 exc 00 klr650 (gone, but not forgotten)
