Wouldn't putting my KLR 650 on the back via a hitch rack give me like the ultimate adventure machine? Yes, dirt bikes could be easier to ride, but they are not always legal. DS bikes are. How does that sound? My wife, son, and I are going to just lollygag tour through Colorado, Utah, New Mexico, Arizona, California for a week or two, then on to Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montanna, then make my way home from there. Heck I like it Tight...... But I like my chains loose.... ;-) Yes I will be sitting on it when I check the chain, just that my bike is kinda stored for winter and things stacked up near, under and all around it. Dude.....n

Jim, your idea is exactly what I am doing now. You see when I first bought the A16, I was dreaming up ways to take it with the family too and not have to pull a trailer. I had this idea to build a hand crank lift mounted channel iron rack that would mount in the receiver hitch. Had thought this to be an original idea for another one of my junkyard creations, till I saw a web site that sold a commercial made lift unit almost identical to my idea. Am at the station working tonight so I don't have the URL to list here. Anyway, I just got back from the steel yard and triler parts store on Friday evening with a Bulldog 7000# top wind trailer jack and the necesary steel. Plan on fabricating the device this next week. will let you know how it worked out. My family wants to go to the CMC in Moab too. Billy in Dripping Springs, TX
