wheelies vs. shafties nklr

Post by monahanwb » Mon Feb 18, 2002 7:14 pm

It's true, shaft drive won't do wheelies. When my R1100RS lifts the front wheel it's not a wheelie, it's a shaftie, almost the same, but in a way better. You see, any idiot can do a wheelie on a KLR, but only a select few of the very experienced and mature can do the shaftie. Not to mention, first of all you need some years riding bmw's, which most riders who can't afford one or see one's attraction and usefullness won't have.

Moron! If that's the case, what you are doing is a "chainee" or "sprockette", not a wheelie!

Actually, most normal shaft drive bikes can wheelie at will. Wheelies are rare on BMWs for the same reason elephants can't jump. Gino

Aha! Elephants can indeed jump. You must know how to inspire them.

Is it the trunks? The dull grey color? The weight? See what I mean, that Dr. Frasier guy wrote of a one-handed wheelie on a GS. Gino, I believe, once rode a beemer and as he states, wheelies are rare (if not absolutely impossible).

Are you sure elephants can't jump? Didn't Marlin Perkins "lose" one of his Jim's that way? One of those forest elephants I think leapt out at him from a tree. Yeah, I'm pretty sure they can jump - kangaroos can climb after all;-) Brad

OK, of tbis I am sure - elephants riding BMW's (shaft drive models only) can not do wheelies. Or jump.

If they could get their footing right I sure they could jump from a BMW, could'nt be anymore difficult than a tree. What about an elephant on a Cagiva Elefant (900 not the 750) it is 8 more hp than the R1100GS?

A no-brainer, easy, it's chain drive, no problem.
