klr 650 kickstarter and battery?

Post by cycleslayer » Fri Feb 15, 2002 6:21 pm

--------------------------------------------- Hello Fellow Riders, I don't ride very often, it seems like a kickstarter would solve my weak battery problems. Will the KLR 650 run without a battery? Kickstarter: Is there an actual "kickstarter kit"? I didn't see one at buykawasaki.com. Do I buy individual KL 600 kickstarter parts? Battery: My A13 came with a FB 14L-A2, (26011-1623). I found out that a Bike Master (Rocky) BB14L-A2 doesn't fit,it is 1/8" too tall. At buykawasaki.com, under electrical accessories they have listed a Yuasa YB 14L-A2, ( 26012-1008 ), Will that one fit without modifications? Thanks for any information, David ---------------------------------------------

Yup, it fits fine and is available at Walmart repackaged under the EverStart brand for $30. Mark B2 A2 A3

klr 650 kickstarter and battery?

Post by cycleslayer » Fri Feb 15, 2002 9:44 pm

Hello again, I found the kickstarter kit for the KLR 650 at buykawasaki.com. The last year it is shown for seems to be 1995 A9. It is in the parts diagrams under optional parts # 99995-1007. I hope that it is still available and will fit my '99 A13. Thanks for the help, David ---------------------------------------------

For you GPS guys, you might want to take a look at a company called "Cabelas." They have tons of neat stuff, including camping gear and stuff. It's almost like a candy store. To get your free catalog, just call 800-237-4444. Jim TT [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
