klr650 clymer manual???????

If your bash plate gets bashed much I doubt any color coating will last. If it gets bashed only with soft things like mud, then just spray paint should do (after cleaning and scuffing). That's what the PO did with my bike, and it looks OK; that is, I never really stared at it very hard, but never noticed anything wrong with it, either.
