nklr: loud pipes get laughs

I have a 2001 KLR that I have done the IDS2/K&N/jet mod on. I can attest to experiencing more of a kick in the low end, but ultimately no more noticeable top end power. It's loud and I dig it. I find myself doing way more street than dirt, and was hoping that someone there would give me some info on a new front sproket so I can cruise at a lower RPM. I recently rode with (chased) a buddy on a BMW touring bike through 150 miles of Arizona and felt like I could use another gear. I do not want to grow out of my KLR too quick! Glen, I JUST ordered a new 16 tooth sprocket from Fred Hink, (he has them in stock), at www.arrowheadmotorsports.com, or Email him at: fred@... I think it was around $19.00, and made by PBI(?), apparently the only people making them for our late model KLR's. Wise men still seek Him... I got too frisky with the SEND button. I wanted to also mention what you'd gain with the 16 tooth sprocket. With the stock sprocket, the average is 60mph @ 4000rpm. I don't actually even have my 16T yet, but all reports are that you'll be running 70mph @ 4000rpm. Sounded good to me! Wise men still seek Him...
