tensioner doohickey - 2nd update

I am posting this message just in case this fellow is still around.
Wouldn't want anybody else to be taken in by him. Maybe somebody knows him
and can explain the error of his ways to him. :=)
In messages 41741 and 41705 from the DSN list a fellow named Sean Cauthen
expressed interest in purchasing a Big Gun exhaust for his 650. I don't
talk much (at all) on the list since I use my work account so I contacted
him "off-line" and started talking to him about selling him my Big Gun
system. We exchanged emails, names addresses, etc. I have our email
correspondence saved btw. He said "yes" he wanted to buy it. We talked
about trust a bit. I said somebody has to trust somebody, so I trusted him
based on his emails and he said he would put a check/MO in the mail as I was
sending him the Big Gun. I assume you can guess the rest of the story :=)
This was back in October. He sent me one email apologizing for not getting
back to me (a couple of weeks after he received the Big Gun since I had the
UPS tracking info), that he was "out of town" for awhile etc. Said he would
take care of it. Never did. I have sent him two emails letting him know
that I wasn't going to "roll over". They were not threatening emails just
straight to the point. No response. I include his then list email address.
Tuffbob@... He lives in the San Francisco area. I have the address
to which I sent the Big Gun. I think I see a road trip in my future :=)

Not a bad idea. For that matter, maybe somebody on the list in the SF area will
email you for the address, and save you a road trip.

You might even pick up a posse along the way. On lists like this people
will always be buying/trading and it has to be based on trust. Takes a real
low-life to break it. Good hunting.

I concur. The guy is a jerk. I've had great success with the honor system on this list. ( I'll send the part, you send the money). I completely parted out my scrapped '87 with no problems. Sad to hear someone got stiffed. Steve A11>You might even pick up a posse along the way. On lists like this people >will always be buying/trading and it has to be based on trust.
